This little girl is quite possibly the most laid back foal on earth. She loves to eat, then plop right down and go to sleep.

She is EXACTLY what I ordered - a cremello filly! She has the most beautiful tiny head and dished face. She is just such a feminine foal. Just perfect.

Her dam is from the wonderful old Last Chance lines and her sire is our herd sire, Golden Gambler. What a cross! We're going to be keeping this little girl. Way to go Gambler and Surrey!

This is what Stephanie Pennell (Gambler's "Mom") had to say about Annie:

Miss Lilly is the first result of crossing Gambler with a heavily Last Chance bred mare. We are thrilled with the results. This filly is another example of hybrid vigor resulting in the best of both parents. One interesting effect of hybrid vigor is the effect on height. This filly is going to be MUCH larger than her dam. Lilly is very much a "Southern Belle" in her manners and personality. She has excellent bone and substance, but carries herself as if she is the daintiest of mares. She is polite, friendly (but not pushy), smart and very laid back. In fact, Lilly is so laid back that she gave us quite a scare when she was born!

As always, Barb called me as soon as her mare foaled. The filly was everything Barb wanted, but Barb thought there was something wrong. She nursed, but she wouldn't move around. She wanted to eat and immediately take a nap. Barb thought that a newborn should have more spunk and worried that something might be wrong. She tried stimulating the foal to get her up and moving around more, but Lilly INSISTED that she had to nap. At one point, Barb even made her a foal "hot toddy" with whiskey, but even that failed to get Lilly up. Much to our amusement, Lilly has retained that oh-so-laid-back disposition. Nothing can disconcert her - except her 1/2 sister's antics...England Gamblers Annie Up ("Annie") is the polar opposite of her lady-like sister.
